In Loving Memory of Clara Mae (Brensy) Chury

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Clara Mae Chury, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on August 7th, 2023 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born on August 27th 1939, Clara graced the world with her presence and touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering kindness, and boundless love. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.

A dedicated mother, Clara  was the heart and soul of her family. She nurtured her children with love, guided them with wisdom, and instilled in them values that will forever shape their lives. Her home was a haven of warmth and laughter, a place where cherished moments were shared and cherished memories created.  Clara was a masterful baker and enjoyed baking pies, cakes, brownies and numerous other deserts daily.

In her role as a grandmother, Clara found immeasurable joy. She showered her grandchildren with affection, and they adored her in return. Whether it was telling stories, baking cookies, playing cards, or offering a listening ear, she made every moment with them special and unforgettable.  Clara was not only a devoted family woman, but also a loyal friend. Her compassionate heart and genuine nature drew people to her, and she formed deep and lasting connections throughout her life. She was a great listener and her presence was a source of comfort.  She enjoyed coffee time and lunches with both friends and family.

Beyond her roles as a mother and friend, Clara had  a zest for life that shone brightly. She enjoyed rooting for the Cleveland Guardians, (nee-Indians) and  was a die hard Pittsburgh Steeler fan.   She loved watching the hummingbirds gather nectar from her flowers in her garden.   She loved dancing polkas, watching and listening to Elvis, petting her grand-dog Jax, attending church and was an active member of the St Vincent De Paul Altar and Rosary Society.  Her entrepreneurial spirit of adventure led her to own and operate, with her father, a beauty salon in Fairchance, Pa.  She also worked a short time as a teller at the Elyria Savings and Trust bank and  raised 3 children.  She was also the lead account manager for Tropical Pools. Though Clara has left this physical world, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will continue to inspire and guide us.

Clara is survived by Charles Chury Sr., husband for 61 years; children and their spouses, Charles Chury Jr (Laura-nee Holzlohner), Brian Chury (Jennifer nee-Agnew) and Stacy Pandy (JR Pandy); her grandchildren,  Michael Pandy, Justin Pandy, Brian Chury Jr., and Jason Chury.

In her memory, a Celebration of Life will be held at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Friday, August 11th, from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and share the fond memories that have woven her into the tapestry of our lives.  A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, August 12th at 10:00 am at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road Elyria.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Vincent De Paul Church Altar and Rosary Society, an organization Clara held dear to her heart.

As we say farewell to Clara, let us remember her with smiles and gratitude for the precious moments we shared. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory serve as a beacon of light guiding us through the journey of life.

Rest in peace, dear Clara, You will be profoundly missed, but your love will forever live on within us.
