Dianne “Didi” Kokai, age 82, passed away on Friday, November 28th, 2025 at Ames Hospice House in Westlake, Ohio. She was born on January 2, 1943 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Richard and Doris (nee Betz) Armstrong.
She was a graduate of Elyria High School and Bowling Green State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
Didi was a talented crafter and seamstress and won awards for doll dress making including American Girl Dolls, among others. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and various sewing clubs.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed cycling and bird watching with her late husband, John.
Didi is survived by her son, John (Denise) Kokai, grandchildren, Gillian “Gigi”, Ian and Aiden; brother, Richard (Jann) Armstrong and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Doris Armstrong, husband, John Kokai, and brother, David Armstrong.
The family will welcome family, friends and loved ones on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street in Elyria, Ohio 44035 followed by a Funeral Service at the funeral home. Procession to Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria, Ohio will immediately follow.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lorain Public Library, 351 W. 6th Street in Lorain, Ohio 44052 or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
