Donald G. Hronek, 82 of Elyria, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at home. He was born on May 23, 1944, to parents, George and Elaine Hronek.
Our beloved father was a hardworking, devoted family man who spent his life taking care of the people he loved. He retired from E&L Transport and later from Don’s Handyman Services, his own personal business. There was very little he couldn’t fix and he proudly earned the name “Mr. Fix It”. He could repair just about anything and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
He was a member of St. Jude Church and the Polish Club in Elyria, where he enjoyed being part of the community.
He was a man of determination with big dreams and a good sense of humor. He firmly believed that one day he would win the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes! He loved to golf when he was able, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family.
He and our mother, Carol, shared 61 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, hard work, family and memories that will remain with us forever.
In his final years, he struggled with declining health, but he continued to show the strength and perseverance that defined hin throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Annette (Earl) Stockton, Debby (Brad) Perkins; grandchildren, Jamie (TJ) Eden, Jacob (Abbey) Kiehl, Brooke Perkins (Andrew Shaniuk), Colton (Katie) Stockton and Olivie Stockton; great grandsons, Bean Eden and Cooper Stockton; siblings, Donna (Ron) Garkowski.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Hronek; parents, George and Elaine Hronek; siblings, Larry (Dorothy) Hronek, Georgene Swislocki, Robert (Ann) Hronek; James Hronek, Dennis (Gwen) Hronek, Pat Roberts and Doris (Lewis) Kitko and in-laws Stanley & June Zidek, Ron Zidek (Kay Reisz) and Elaine Zidek (wife of Ron Zidek).
