It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Nixon, who peacefully left this life on June 15th, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 13th, 1941, Jeanne’s life was characterized by her love for her family and her steadfast support for those around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, roles she embraced with dedication. Her influence remains in the lives of those she nurtured and guided. Jeanne was known for her commitment to family traditions and her ability to make ordinary moments special. She was a proud member of the United Polish Club and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Jeanne also enjoyed traveling. Highlights included two trips to Hawaii and many travels to Las Vegas. She cherished the memories from her trips and enjoyed sharing them with others.
Jeanne is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dan Nixon; daughters, Jennifer Lorbach, Melissa (John) Brown, Rebecca Bowen, Kearsten (Brad) Stevanus, and Jessica Basinski; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; stepdaughters, Terri (Jay) Loesch and Patti Nixon; 8 step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Pileski (Barbara); and sister, Barbara McKinney.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Thom Lorbach; stepson, Danny Nixon; parents, Mary and Josef Pileski; brothers, Ray, Ted, and Leo Pileski; and sisters, Wanda Siwek and Sophie Duposki. A funeral Mass will be held for Jeanne at 10:00 AM on June 19th, 2025, at St. Agnes Church in Elyria (611 Lake Ave.), followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Western Reserve Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
