John Frederick Dostall (Jack) passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Fairmont Senior Living of Westlake, Ohio. He was born on October 2, 1932 in Elyria, Ohio to parents Frederick W. Dostall and Margaret Dostall (nee Bardon).
Jack graduated Elyria High School in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly thereafter. After serving in the Korean War and receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal, he was honorably discharged with the Rank of Staff Sargeant.
After coming home, he worked at Bendix Air Brake Co. as a computer operator and retired after 30 years of loyal service. During retirement, Jack decided to travel, and travel he did ... he visited every state except Hawaii in his motor home. He was also active in his Parish, St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
Jack is survived by his loving family, including cousins, Linda Henry, Larry Cambarare and Gary Cambarare.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Margaret Dostall and brother, Thomas W. Dostall.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place on Monday, October 23rd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 708 Erie Street in Grafton, Ohio. The family is requesting that all who wish to attend to "meet at the gate" prior to the service.
