Kathy Mason

March 28, 1958 — June 5, 2023

Kathy Mason passed away June 5, 2023 at Avon Hospital after a long illness, with her family by her bedside. Born March 28, 1958 to Chuck and Sue Mason, Kathy was a 1976 graduate of Elyria High School and was employed in the dental field for many years. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria.

Kathy leaves behind her beloved rescue dog, Joey, who will continue his life with her brother, Mike. Kathy was a generous soul, and besides walking Joey she loved to chat with neighbors and the people in the community with whom she interacted daily (much to the sometimes chagrin of the folks in line behind her at the store checkout). Kathy leaves behind her mother, Sue; her brothers, Mike (Mary) and Jim' her sister, Julie Thompson (Steve); seven nephews and nieces, Ben, Emily (Nate), Zach (Stephanie), Alex (Alley), Sam, Jake (Makenzie), and Mia; a grandniece, (Eloise); and a very special aunt, Judy Yarish. She was preceded in death by her father, Chuck; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Blanche Mason; and maternal grandparents, Mike and Helen Bodnar; along with several extended family. To respect Kathy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Jude Church in Elyria.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friendship Animal Protective League by clicking here.

Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
