Kenneth J. Kohler

Kenneth J. Kohler, age 85, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born on June 13, 1941 in Lorain, Ohio to parents, Charles and Thelma Kohler.

He proudly served his community as a Lieutenant for the Elyria Fire Department for 26 years. Prior to that, he served the area residents in another capacity as a barber at Loopers Barber Shop. He was the Scout Master at St. Jude Troop 133 and a Volunteer at the Maritime Museum in Sandusky, Ohio where he truly enjoyed the interaction of providing tours to visitors.

Ken will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and friend to many. His strong work ethic inspired many. Many cherished memories were created with his wife, Sharon, as they traveled to all 50 states.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon and sons, Brian (Elizabeth) Kohler, Craig (Maggie) Kohler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma Kohler, and brothers, Keith Kohler and Raymond Kohler.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Catholic Church.

Family and friends are invited to Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church at 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, Ohio on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 11:00 am Officiated by Fr. Jose. The Committal Service will be Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Elyria, Ohio.
