Laurene Ruth Strother

Laurene Ruth Strother, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at home in Lorain, Ohio. She was born on May 13, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Malcolm and Hilda (nee Jahnsz) Kelner.

Laurene was a 1958 graduate of Elyria High School. She later fell in love with Arthur Strother and they married in 1960 and had three children. After having her children, Laurene continued her education at Lorain Community College earning her Associate of Science in Nursing degree and worked as a Registered Nurse in a doctor’s office.

Together, Laurene and Arthur were commercial artists. Laurene was a very creative soul as evidenced by her painting, ceramics and many other talents.

Laurene had a very charitable nature and took care of anyone in need including her family.

She is survived by her children, Dawn Litchfield, Kyle (Christine) Strother and Brion (Colleen) Strother; grandchildren, Sarah, Zackary and Calypso and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

Services will be private.
