Phillip R Seguin

Phillip R. Seguin, 89, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on Dec. 14, 1936.

Phil was devoted to his family and his faith. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Margaret Seguin, and proud father of Michelle Flanagan, Phil J. Seguin (Elaine), Suzanne Taylor, and Jeanette Wysmierski (Eddie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Phil worked for 34 years in inventory control at American Koyo Corporation and served two years in the U.S. Army with the 7th Cavalry at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

A long-time parishioner of St. Jude Church in Elyria and previously of St. Francis DeSales in Parma, Phil taught in the parish School of Religion and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He also volunteered for many years at the St. Jude Helping Hands food pantry. A man of deep and visible faith, his children’s earliest memories are of him beginning each day in prayer at his bedside. He was known for caring for others, sharing kindness, and living his faith. Phil enjoyed playing Euchre and Nickels with dear friends and family; he played softball in Parma with the Huff-n-Puffers, a senior men's softball league; and he enjoyed working with tools and doing many projects around his house.

The family will receive guests from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, followed immediately by a memorial Mass at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Helping Hands food pantry.
