Phyllis Wimsatt

Phyllis Wimsatt (nee Noffsinger) 77 of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026. She grew up in Eastlake, Ohio and graduated from Eastlake North High School in 1967. Before starting her family, she was a hairdresser at JC Penney. She and her husband Donald were active members at St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria. They used to love vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC. Phyllis loved caring for her family and being “Mimi” to her grandson, Garrett. She is now together again with Donald, who passed in 2025. Phyllis will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Amanda Klein (Chuck), Michael Wimsatt (Laura), and Kristin Wimsatt; her grandson Garrett Wimsatt; and 8 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald; parents, Harry and Helen Noffsinger; and siblings, Loretta Koly, Janet Thistlewood, and John Noffsinger.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
