Richard L. Kaszar Sr.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Richard “Rick” Kashzar, age 66, of Elyria, Ohio on August 5, 2025. He was born on November 5, 1958 in Wellington, Ohio to Alex and Priscilla Kaszar.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (née Bursley); sons, Richard Jr. and Nicholas (Shannon); sister, Carol; grandsons, Xander and Roman; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Allen.

Rick was a strong and resilient warrior with a heart of gold. In his youth, Rick was an active member of 4-H and the Lorain County Fair. He also played multiple sports, and went on to coach both of his sons in baseball and basketball, as well as many others in the community. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed watching all the teams through their ups and downs.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St, Elyria,  followed by a formal funeral service at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St, Elyria, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 @10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lorain County 4-H or MetroHealth’s Spine Rehabilitation Institute.
