Robert W. Hoefs

Robert W. Hoefs, 72 of Elyria, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 at his home. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Bob was a laid-back, gentle, kind soul who enjoyed doing word search puzzles. To know Bob was to love him, and he loved his family more than anything and will be greatly missed by them.

Bob is survived by his siblings, Michael (Lori) Hoefs, Sandra (Ron) Gullion, and Nancy (Rick) Smalley; nieces and nephews – David Smalley, Terry Cooke, Halley, Rachel, Ashley, Jennifer, Angela, Elizabeth, Shelley, and Matt; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Dorothy Hoefs, and a niece Jessica Newton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 9 from 4-6pm with a service beginning at 6pm at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria. Entombment will take place on Monday, August 10 at 10am at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
